Glavatičevo

Glavatičevo is a small mountain village located upstream from Konjic, deep in the upper canyon of the Neretva River in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Surrounded by the dramatic peaks of Prenj, Visočica and Bjelašnica, this quiet place is one of the most beautiful natural sections of the entire Neretva course.

Here the Neretva is still completely wild. The river cuts through deep rock canyons, forming emerald pools, rapids and untouched riverbanks. This section is often described as the most pristine part of the river.

Nature and Rafting Canyon

The canyon between Glavatičevo and Konjic is famous for rafting. High cliffs, narrow passages and cold mountain water create an unforgettable experience for visitors. The area is also ideal for fishing, hiking and enjoying absolute silence far from urban life.

Stećak Necropolis

Near Glavatičevo there are medieval stećak tombstones, part of the wider cultural landscape of Herzegovina. These stone monuments, scattered across the hills and meadows, testify to the medieval life that once existed along the upper Neretva.

Similar necropolises can be found in places like Radimlja near Stolac, making this whole region important for understanding medieval heritage.
